ZOO YORK'S EURO TOUR IS ON!!!

The Zoo York Skate Team is now underway with it's almost three week long tour of Europe. With almost two weeks left to go, they recently left the UK and are currently on their way to Amsterdam, so we wish them happy travels as they fly, train trek, drive, and skate their way through the rest of the tour. Check out the very cool eight page interview of BMX rider Chris Bohm in LOVE BMX, an online publication from Czechoslovakia. Learn about his BMX loft apartment and a program he started called "BMX Therapy", where he aids ill children in attaining a happier outlook on life. ZOO YORK SPONSORING SLAM TRICK 'FREAK OUT' 2008

Grab your skateboard, some vintage tees, rock a bandana, and then hitch a ride to Marina di Ravenna, Oasi Skatepark at Taverna Bukowski! It's freak out time!

Slamtrick, freak out edition, will be under the hippie influence of English artist Fergadelic who will give his freaked out point of view to the event. If you're too cool to hitchhike, take your vintage Renault 4 and 2 cheval and make them ready for the road on the 28th and the 29th of june for the freakin’coolest international skateboarding contest.

Here's the format for the event:
-Qualifiers on Saturday 28th June @ 3pm to win a spot into the final contest of invited skaters. Music will be played by Diego from Impact and Strike.
-Saturday 28th at 5pm is a massive beach party at Boca Barranca in Marina Romea for all the freaks with a non stop dj set by international artists as: WAY OF THE ANCIENTS (Thomas Bullock: Rub-n-Tug, Map of Africa/NYC), Daniele Baldelli (Cosmic), Misha (P.A.M./Australia), dj Hendrix, Uovo (pasta boys), Volcov and Fergadelic himself and many other special guests.
-On Sunday 29th June, the event begins at 4pm for skaters to try and win in the following categories: Best trick, Skater of the day, best freak out trick, and The Cosmic trick. Special guest deejaying: Nikki (Tropical Pizza).

Slamtrick 2008 is sponsored by CARHARTT, GLOBE, ZOO YORK, STUSSY, ANALOG, ZOO YORK and TONITE leading brands in the boardriding and streetwear industry, and the usual and successful collaboration with M.Casale Bauer, distributor of FENDER in Italy, who will award the best skaters with an acoustic guitar customized by the artist in a special freaky style.
The event is organized in collaboration with the CITY OF RAVENNA.

ZOO YORK EUROPEAN TOUR

It’s been nearly two years since the team landed on European soil for a skateboarding tour, so needless to say the entire squad is extremely fired up and ready to shred. Along for the ride will be ZY Officials Zered Bassett, Donny Barley, Aaron Suski, Kevin Taylor, Forrest Kirby, Brandon Westgate, Matt Miller, Anthony Shetler, Lamare Hemmings, Ron Deily, and Eli Reed. Led by the hardest working TM in the business, Seamus Deegan, the crew will host autograph signings and demos in fourteen cities spread throughout the United Kingdom, Sweden, Germany, Switzerland, Holland, Czech Republic, and France.

The Zoo York European Tour will run from June 11th through July 3rd - so check the dates and check them while they skate, sign autographs, and party in your neck of the woods!

ZOO YORK'S AM GETTING PAID REGISTRATION OPEN NOW!

Zoo York is proud to announce the fourth installment of the most prestigious international amateur skateboard contest “Zoo York’s AM Getting Paid”. The focus of the contest is to showcase the very best in amateur skateboarding like no other amateur event out there. This event will happen from July 18th to the 20th 2008, at South Parc in Montreal, (Quebec). This years prize purse is $10,000 dollars.

On April 10th, Germany's TRL on MTV hosted a contest to win a ZOO YORK x Ghostface Killah Deck and Tee. We hope the winner was stoked with their prize and big thanks to MTV Germany for repping our goods!

ZOO CREW TOURS SOUTH AFRICA!

The ZOO Crew finally hit South Africa! The crew just returned from a seven day tour of Johannesburg and Durban. Officials Zered Bassett, Forrest Kirby and Brandon Westgate joined Zoo York Team Manager Seamus, along with trusted ZOO media RB and Cronan to session the parks and hit the streets.

The skate scene is alive and well, they had great turnouts at the parks and at the instore signings. They can't wait to get back.

CANADA'S EMPIRE SHAKEDOWN

For the 2nd year now, Zoo York has been a partner in the Empire Shakedown, held on Mont Saint-Sauveur in Quebec, Canada. Shakedown is a pro snowboard contest, has been running for seven years, and is the biggest of its kind in Canada. 30 riders compete for prizes of 20,000$ as 25,000 raging spectators look on!!!

This year the contest was exceptionally good as the warm sunny weather and amazing snow conditions made for an incredible weekend! Zoo York had its own prime private bleacher where 400 Zoo York VIP's equipped with their free Zoo York beanies looked on.

In addition, Zoo York made the official competitor jersey and in the village, set up a an amateur rail jam to compete for Zoo York prizes.
